Mr. M.B.N. Rao has been serving as an Independent Director of the Company since February 9, 2019, and assumed the role of Lead Independent Director in May 25, 2022.

A seasoned banking professional, Mr. Rao is the former Chairman and Managing Director of Canara Bank and Indian Bank. He holds a B.Sc. in Agriculture and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, London, as well as a Fellow of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance. He is also a member of the Singapore Institute of Management andhas completed a Diploma in Computer Studies from the University of Cambridge and the National Computing Center, London.

With over 38 years of experience, Mr. Rao has extensive expertise in Banking and Finance, Economics, Foreign Exchange, Capital Markets, Risk Management, Treasury Operations, Asset and Liability Management, Internal Control, Audit, Vigilance, and Taxation.

Throughout his career, he has received multiple awards and commendations for his contributions to Indian Bank and Canara Bank.

He has also served as a Director of the General Insurance Corporation of India and was the Founder Chairman of Canara Bank, HSBC, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Life Insurance Company.
