About Dr Prof P Vijayashankar

Dr. Prof. P. Vijayashankar is a Senior Consultant Neurologist and Movement Disorders & Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Specialist at Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, Chennai. He holds DM (Neurology), FRCP (London), Fellowship in Movement Disorders (Canada), Fellowship in Movement Disorders – Surgical & DBS (Canada), and Fellowship from the European Board of Neurology.

With extensive international training and advanced expertise in complex neurological disorders, he specializes in the comprehensive evaluation and management of Parkinson’s Disease, tremor disorders, Dystonia, Spasticity, Ataxia, Huntington’s Disease, Tics and other neurodegenerative and hereditary movement disorders. He has particular expertise in Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) evaluation, intraoperative microelectrode recording, advanced and personalized DBS programming and Botulinum toxin therapy for focal dystonia and spasticity.
