Dr. Aditya Kumar combines advanced surgical expertise, international clinical training and a strong academic foundation to deliver precise, personalised care. He is a Consultant in Robotic & Laparoscopic General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery at Apollo Healthcity, Gurugram, and a former Assistant Professor at AIIMS, New Delhi, where he also completed his M.Ch. in Minimal Access Surgery & General Surgery.
His practice encompasses advanced robotic, laparoscopic and thoracoscopic surgery for upper gastrointestinal, thoracic, bariatric, hernia and abdominal wall conditions, alongside comprehensive general surgical care. His approach centres on selecting the right operation for each patient, combining sound clinical judgement with modern surgical technology.
A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Dr. Kumar also holds the FAIS, FMAS and FCLS fellowships. He received the SSAT Kaizencon Fellowship Award and undertook clinical fellowships at the University of Chicago Medicine and Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA. He also served as Visiting Professor in the Division of Minimal Invasive Surgery at the University of Chicago Medicine.
Dr. Kumar contributes to the advancement of his specialty as Section Editor of the Journal of Minimal Access Surgery (JMAS) and an Executive Committee Member of the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI). His academic work includes peer-reviewed publications, clinical trials and book chapters. He regularly serves as faculty and speaker at surgical conferences and training programmes, helping shape the next generation of surgeons.
