About Dr Vanita Arora
Dr. Vanita Arora is one of India’s most distinguished and influential Cardiac Electrophysiologists, internationally recognized for her pioneering contributions to the diagnosis and treatment of complex cardiac arrhythmias, cardiac pacing, heart failure devices, and advanced electrophysiology interventions. Widely acknowledged as the First Lady Cardiac Electrophysiologist of India, she has been instrumental in advancing the field of heart rhythm management and introducing several transformative technologies into clinical practice across the country.
With over 25 years of dedicated experience in Cardiology, Dr. Arora combines exceptional clinical expertise with academic excellence and visionary leadership. She completed her MBBS and MD in Internal Medicine from Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana, followed by DNB (Cardiology) from Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi. To further refine her expertise, she pursued advanced fellowships in Complex Cardiac Arrhythmias and Electrophysiology in Milwaukee, USA, Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy in Germany, and specialized training in Leadless Pacemakers, 3D Electro-Anatomical Mapping, and Conduction System Pacing at globally renowned institutions across the United States, Europe, Australia, and Singapore.
A trailblazer in her specialty, Dr. Arora has been at the forefront of introducing and expanding advanced electrophysiology therapies in India. She pioneered the adoption of 3D Mapping for Complex Arrhythmias, Leadless Pacemakers, Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT), His Bundle Pacing, and Conduction System Pacing, helping redefine standards of care for patients with heart rhythm disorders and heart failure. She was among the earliest champions of physiological pacing in India and has consistently driven innovation in device-based therapies.
Her procedural expertise is extraordinary, with more than 3,500 radiofrequency ablations, 3,500 permanent pacemaker implantations, 3,000 cardiac resynchronization therapy device implantations, hundreds of complex 3D mapping-guided ablations, over 250 physiological pacing procedures, and more than 150 leadless pacemaker implantations to her credit. She also performed the first Leadless Pacemaker implantation in India, marking another milestone in the evolution of leadless pacing technology in the country.
Beyond clinical excellence, Dr. Arora is a highly respected academician, educator, and thought leader. She has delivered lectures and live case demonstrations at leading national and international scientific forums and has contributed extensively to cardiovascular research. With over 300 presentations at national and international conferences and more than 200 scientific publications, guideline contributions, reviews, and book chapters, her work continues to influence contemporary electrophysiology practice worldwide. Notably, she was among the international contributors to the landmark 2023 HRS/APHRS/LAHRS Guideline on Cardiac Physiologic Pacing.
